Va-era, 20 Tevet 5778
January 7, 2018

One of the ways we can banish negativity and bring Light to the darkest month of the year is to see the good in everyone and everything. The Baal Shem Tov taught that the Creator's Light is so powerful it must be concealed in darkness. In our lives we encounter negative people and negative situations. We can choose to let their negativity envelop and overwhelm us or we can choose to seek the Light. Even if things don't always turn out the way we would like them to, if we have put forth effort and have sought the Light then we will be able to banish negativity. As we begin this new week, make a promise to yourself to try to see the good in at least one person and one situation you may encounter this week.

Next Kabbalah Study...
Our next Kabbalah Study will be on Monday, January 8, 2018. We will continue with our study of the mystical AlefBet and focus on the letters of Mem, Nun, and Samech.

Shovavim
With the Torah portion of Shemot we begin the six week period of Shovavim. This period of Shovavim is an acronym for the six weekly Torah portions: Shemot, Va-eira, Bo, Beshalach, Yitro and Mishpatim. It is a time of inner renewal, tikun (correction) of misdeeds, and teshuvah (return to Creator). We should strive to avoid anger and seek humility by shunning cynicism, frivolity, and arrogance.

NEW Perek Shirah Page
Perek Shirah is an ancient text of unknown authorship, although many commentaries attribute it to King David. It takes the form of a list of eighty-four elements of the natural world. Everything in creation praises its Creator. The lessons can assist us on our journey. Rabbi Eliezer said, Anyone who involves themselves with Perek Shirah in this world, merits saying it in the next world. Kabbalah4All will be working on a new photo each week with a verse until we complete all 84. Click Here to go to our new Perek Shirah page.
Please Donate to Show Your Appreciation!
The word "tzedakah" in Hebrew means charity, but actually the word is derived from the root word which means righteousness, justice or fairness. Giving is not viewed as a generous act, it is simply an act of righteousness and justice. Tzedakah is in many ways an exchange of energy and is a visible expression of gratitude in this world for that which we have received. We rely on the generosity of others so that we may make our siddurim (prayer books) and other resources available for all, as well as continue to offer meaningful studies and inspiring services. Please help support our community by making a DONATION. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
