Matot-Masei, 25 Tammuz 5778
July 8, 2018

This Friday we will enter a month of complete opposites known as Menachem Av (the Comforting Father). As the month begins we feel the intensity of the sun and the negativity of the first two weeks. It is a time to feel your own brokenness, to feel the brokenness of the world. You may even feel moved to tears because of experiencing this brokenness. It is ok to cry, tears are a part of healing and purification. On the 9th of Av (Tisha B'Av) we will come to the climax of this negative period, a day of fasting and next to Yom Kippur the most important fast day of the year. As we approach the 15th of Av (Tu B'Av), things will dramatically change and very quickly. Tu B'Av is the day where the sun's energy is the most powerful, and according to the Kabbalists, it is the most joyous day of the year because harmony exists in the entire universe between all vessels and the Creator's Light. As we begin this new month, let us find joy in all facets of the journey. When you feel like crying, then cry and be thankful to experience this part of life. When you feel happiness and bliss, cry and be thankful to experience this aspect of life as well and know that Hashem will be there to comfort you.

Shavua v'chodesh tov,

Tisha B'Av is on Sunday, July 22, 2018 and next to Yom Kippur it is the most important fast day in the calendar.  We invite you to join us for Maariv for Tisha B'Av on Saturday night, July 21, 2018, at 9:00 PM EDT.
The Three Negative Weeks
The Bein Ham'tzarim normally begins with the 17th of Tammuz, however this year the 17th falls on Shabbat, so it will begin on the 18th (Sunday, July 1, 2015). These are the three most negative weeks of the year. During this time we should keep in mind the idea of restricting our ego nature. We fast from red meat and wine (except on Shabbat) and we make a point of making extra time for meditation. Click here for a special Kabbalistic meditation for The Three Weeks.
NEW Perek Shirah Page
Perek Shirah is an ancient text of unknown authorship, although many commentaries attribute it to King David. It takes the form of a list of eighty-four elements of the natural world. Everything in creation praises its Creator. The lessons can assist us on our journey. Rabbi Eliezer said, Anyone who involves themselves with Perek Shirah in this world, merits saying it in the next world. Kabbalah4All will be working on a new photo each week with a verse until we complete all 84. Click Here to go to our new Perek Shirah page.
Please Donate to Support Kabbalah4All
The word "tzedakah" in Hebrew means charity, but actually the word is derived from the root word which means righteousness, justice or fairness. Giving is not viewed as a generous act, it is simply an act of righteousness and justice. Tzedakah is in many ways an exchange of energy and is a visible expression of gratitude in this world for that which we have received. We rely on the generosity of others so that we may make our siddurim (prayer books) and other resources available for all, as well as continue to offer meaningful studies and inspiring services. Please help support our community by making a DONATION. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
