This month's energy is that of receiving.  It is important for us to be creative this month, for Sivan's energy is perfect for this.  When we are creative, we are tapping into our divine selves and receiving that which the Light of the Creator wishes to share with us.  Kabbalah teaches that the tranformation of our ego nature involves receving, not for the self alone but in order that we may share.  Creativity is the best expression of sharing what we have been given.  We should let go of the things that limit us in this month and be creative even in the ordinary routine tasks in our lives.

This month we celebrate the holiday of Shavuot.  This is the day that the Torah was given on Mount Sinai.  The Zohar states that when the Torah was given, there was "removal of death." The Torah is a tool which is filled with the energy of the Light of the Creator. It is important to remember that this tool is a code and without a decoder, the Zohar, we are not able to use it properly.  The Kabbalists remind us that when we celebrate a holiday, we are not commemorating an event.  We are connecting to an energy that was infused into our universe at a particular time in history and which is available each year at that same time.

Sivan gives us the opportunity to be creative and to truly share.  It is my hope that we connect to that energy and allow it to assist in our spiritual transformation.

Chodesh tov,
