Vayakhel-Pekudei, 23 Adar 5781
March 7, 2021

The new month of Nissan (Aries) will begin on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Nissan is the time for us to break free. It is no coincidence that the Ram (Aries) is the sign for this month. We, like the ram, must break through the barriers that our ego sets for us and push ahead toward freedom. As Torah states, "this shall be for you the first of months." and therefore Nissan begins the Hebrew calendar and the energy we connect to during this new month is freedom and renewal.  The first twelve days of the month of Nissan are very special. Each day represents a different month in the Kabbalistic calendar. For these first twelve days, it is important for us to connect to the consciousness of each month and follow the tips so that we can be proactive.  During Nissan we will taste freedom and renewal at the Pesach seder, but really each day of this month we should strive for freedom and renewal on all levels.  May we be blessed to shatter the prisons our egos build around us and experience the freedom our souls long for.

Shabbat HaChodesh
The Torah states about the month of Nissan: "This month shall be for you the beginning of the months, it shall be for you the first of the months of the year." The first day of Nissan was and forever will be a historic day for it is the day when we received our first commandment: Sanctify the New Moon. On the Shabbat before Rosh Chodesh Nissan, we read a special Maftir called HaChodesh.

The New Month of Nissan (Aries)

The First 13 Days of Nissan
The Mishkan was erected on Rosh Chodesh Nisan. For the first 13 days of Nisan, we make a special connection to each day and plant the seed for the next 12 months of the Jewish year. The 13th day represents the lighting of the Menorah in the completed Mishkan. The Kabbalists suggest that when we finish our study for each day, we also meditate on the 42-Letter Name and the 72 Names.

We invite you to join us each night beginning Saturday night, March 13th for the First 13 Days of Nisan. Click Here to download the meditations for each day. Our meditation for the First Day of Nissan will begin after Havdalah on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Go to our EVENTS page to join us.

Support Kabbalah4All
The word "tzedakah" in Hebrew means charity, but actually the word is derived from the root word which means righteousness, justice or fairness. Giving is not viewed as a generous act, it is simply an act of righteousness and justice. Tzedakah is in many ways an exchange of energy and is a visible expression of gratitude in this world for that which we have received. We rely on the generosity of others so that we may make our siddurim (prayer books) and other resources available for all, as well as continue to offer meaningful studies and inspiring services. Please help support our community by making a DONATION. You can also support us by ordering a kippah at KippahDIVA.com. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
Weekly Derech Hashem Study
Derech HaShem (The "Way of the Name") is a philosophical text written in the 1730s by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto. It is considered one of the quintessential handbooks of Jewish thought. The text covers a vast gamut of philosophical topics in the vast spectrum of classical Judaism's outlook on the world. These topics include: The purpose of creation, the Creator, human responsibility, the spiritual realms, providence, Israel and the nations, astrology, the human soul, theurgy, prophecy, the study of Torah, prayer, and the function of mitzvah observance. We will hold this class on Tuesdays at 8:30 PM EDT. See our Calendar for more information.

Your Hebrew Name
At the end of the Amidah, we whisper a verse from Scripture which is associated with our Hebrew name. Would you like to know your Hebrew name and the verse from the Tanach which is associated with your name? Or would you like us to help you choose a Hebrew name and even have a certificate with your Hebrew name and verse? Simply for more information.
